This graph shows the distribution of ranks at the time of the men's death. 28 out of the 95 men were promoted or held ranks above "Private" (or its equivalent in specialist units, such as "Trooper, "Gunner", "Driver" etc). Of the 22 men promoted beyond their initial rank upon entering active service, the median interval between their initial rank and their first promotion was 38 weeks. For the 10 men who were promoted a second time, the median time interval between the first and second promotion was 10.5 weeks. Two men were promoted a third time - the median interval being 19.5 weeks.
The median time interval between final promotion and a soldier's death (either killed in action or died of wounds) was 18.6 weeks.
