JOHN FLINT

Private John Anthony Flint was the next of the Papanui men to be killed in action in the battle for Bapaume. Little is known about him. He had lived with his parents at 114 Bligh's Road, Papanui. Arriving in late 1917 as a replacement for the Division's losses, he was posted to the 1st Battalion of the Otago Infantry Regiment. He died on 31 August 1918 and like several other men from Papanui is buried at the Bagneux cemetery near Gezaincourt.
